Vorhergesagter Eisverlust

Die Eisverluste des weltweit zweitgrößten Eispanzers auf Grönland werden wesentlich zum Anstieg der Meeresspiegel beitragen. Bisherige Simulationsmodelle unterschätzten aber die resultierenden Gletscher-Schmelzraten. Forscherinnen vom Alfred-Wegener-Institut in Bremerhaven haben heraus­gefunden, wie sich die Gezeiten und die Topographie auf die Wahl des richtigen Materialmodells auswirken, mit dem sich die Eisverluste genau vorhersagen lassen.

Photonic Devices for Future Network Designs

Vibroacoustic Properties in Moth Wings

The Physics Behind Electromagnetics Concepts
A model of a 50 Hz AC coil wound around a ferromagnetic (linear) core. The model shows how to create a relatively complex geometry and set up the Multi-Turn Coil features for the simulation. The use of simulations provides insights into electromagnetic fields that would not be visible experimentally. 

Anamorphotische Strahlformung
Anamorphotische Strahl­formungsoptiken dienen beispielsweise dazu, elliptische Laserstrahlen vor der Einkopplung in optische Single­mode-Fasern zu einem runden Strahlprofil zu verhelfen.
