PostDoc Position on Perovskite Multijunction Photovoltaics

(PostDoc (m/f) with PhD in physics, materials science or electrical engineering)

Job description
The rise of perovskite thin-film solar cells in recent years has opened up an exciting route to advance the power conversion efficiency of established photovoltaic technologies. So called Perovskite multijunction solar cells bear the exciting potential to boost the efficiency of the established photovoltaic technologies, based on crystalline Si wafer or CIGS thin-films, beyond 30% in power conversion efficiency. At KIT, we engage in this worldwide endeavor and research the fundamentals, novel materials and processes for perovskite multijunction photovoltaics.

The research will be conducted within the perovskite PV taskforce at KIT, which combines the expertise and equipment of the groups of Prof. Dr. Uli Lemmer, Prof Dr. Bryce Richards and Dr. Ulrich W. Paetzold. For the fabrication and prototyping of solution-processed perovskite solar cells a broad fabrication and characterization platform will be accessible via the involved institutes, the Light Technology Institute (LTI) and the Institute of Microstructure Technology (IMT).

Our activities in this field are continuously growing. Currently, we are looking for an excellent PostDoc (m/f) with scientific ambitions. The job opening is a fulltime PostDoc position for two years with possible limited extension. Involvement in the supervision of master students and Phd students as well as research projects is expected.

Personal qualification
Applications of excellent candidates with a PhD in physics, materials science, electrical engineering or related subjects are welcome. The candidate shall have a strong scientific background in perovskite optoelectronics or multijunction photovoltaics.
