Beschreibung:
At the Institute of Materials Physics in Space, German Aerospace Center (DLR) (PD Dr. J. HORBACH) there is an open Ph.D. position (E13/2) that is already available. The Ph.D. project will be focussed on time-dependent phenomena of glassforming systems under shear. Non-equilibrium molecular dynamics computer simulation will be used to study the non-linear response of binary liquids and glasses to various time-dependent shear fields.
The successful candidate should have a Diploma/MSc in physics and a strong interest in condensed matter theory. He/she is expected to work at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) at Köln. The project is carried out in collaboration with the condensed matter theory group at the University of Mainz in the framework of the SFB TR 6 "Colloidal dispersions in external fields" of the German Science Foundation (DFG).
